CLASSICAL TUI NA

CLASSICAL TUI NA

Tui Na, meaning push pull, or push grasp, is a Chinese medical massage system. Through appropriate biomechanical structure the practitioner employs a variety of hand techniques to mobilize tissues, fluids, and energy in the body of the recipient. Since the body is comprised of 60 – 80% water, Tui Na can be thought of as sending waves through the waters of the body. These waves are both diagnostic, and therapeutic. How the wave travels, tells us about the level of balance, and integration of the system. Where the wave travels, shows where there is freedom, and restriction in the system. By changing the amplitude, vector, and quality of the waves the practitioner can facilitate the harmonization of the tissues, fluids, and energy of the body. This harmonization is the root of healing.
